Recently, the Provincial Department of Ecological Environment issued the ranking of dust monitoring results of 16 prefecture-level cities and 59 counties ( cities ) in 2023. The ranking was determined by the quantity of dust fall—the smaller quantity of dust fall a city has, the higher ranking it will get. The dustfall in Huangshan City in 2023 continues to rank first in the province, with an average dustfall of 1.3 tons per square kilometre  per month. The quantities of dustfall in the four counties all ranked in the top ten of 59 counties ( cities ).
