Wulingshen Fungus, A Rare and Valuable Chinese herb, has been discovered on Huangshan's JiuLong Peak

Recently, during a large-scale survey of fungal diversity conducted by the Huangshan Jiuhong Peak Provincial Nature Reserve in Anhui, China, in collaboration with Anhui Normal University, a rare medicinal fungus known as Xylaria nigripes (KI.) Sacc. was discovered growing within abandoned termite nests. Additionally, its fruiting bodies (commonly referred to as Wulingshen fungus) were excavated from these termite nests at a depth of approximately 2 meters below the surface.
