As of August 2024, a total of 6,031 species have been documented in Huangshan City. This includes 129 species of nationally protected wildlife and plants, 100 threatened species, and 182 wildlife and plant species that are protected at the provincial level in Anhui. With ongoing efforts to protect biodiversity in Huangshan City, the functionality of its ecosystems is gradually recovering, thereby attracting an increasing number of rare species to establish their habitats in this region.
