Huangshan Mountain has made it onto the list of 52 "must-visit" scenic spots worldwide
The only place from the Chinese mainland to be included
Recently, the US media outlet The New York Times released a list of "52 Places to Go in 2025", and Huangshan Moutain was the only scenic spot from the Chinese mainland to make the cut.
The New York Times points out that Huangshan Mountain, located in the eastern part of Anhui Province, is renowned for its steep mountains and strangely shaped rocks. Over the past 30 years, China has developed rapidly, and the hiking trails and cable car network in Huangshan are well maintained. Moreover, with the continuous improvement of China's high-speed rail, it only takes 2.5 hours to travel from Shanghai to Huangshan. In addition, China's visa-free policy and the popularization of Alipay have made it more convenient for overseas friends to visit various scenic spots.
