A. Background and Available Conditions

    Being one of three major areas growing bamboos, Huangshan District has abundant bamboo resources with 16675 hectares of bamboo forests and 29.45 million bamboos. It has high appreciation and good prospects to develop bamboo fabric. Bamboo fabric has high strength, good spring, nice wear-proof, diathermancy, and is widely used in the professions of building materials, car manufacturing, dirty water disposal and weaving materials etc. Clothes made of bamboo fabric are cool and comfortable and has fine dying property. Bamboo fabric also has the natural function of anti-bacteria and come up to the times request for natural and environmental life. It is called “materials which can breathe” by insiders.

    B. Scale and Content

    This project can be constructed at two periods. Bamboo size manufacturing factory and weaving fabric factory can be built in the first period. When the technical condition is mature, bamboo fabric exquisite processing factory will be built in the second period. All this can be done under the condition of technical feasibility. Every year, 15000 tons of raw materials can be processed, and 6000 tons of bamboo fabric is able to be produced.

    C. Investment Estimate and Benefit Appraisal

    The project needs investment of 71 million yuan. After put into operation, 150 million yuan annual sales, 15 million yuan profit are expected, with a 4.7 years of reclamation period.
